Our activities run throughout the year. We organise events that are sometimes free, and at other times subsidised, in order to encourage as many people as possible to join in the fun. Some of the activities we offer are: Horseriding: We organise frequent horseriding sessions at Playmates in Tewkesbury on specially trained ponies. Riding hats are provided. There is a small play area that the children can explore before and after their rides. Swimming: All our children love swimming, especially when we go to Cascades in Tewkesbury with the wave machine. Outings: Theme parks like Alton Towers and Thorpe Park are favourites with all the family, as are the trips to the seaside, Seven Springs...{mosimage} Other Activities: BBQ's and picnics; cinema and cooking; bowling and boating, Easter crafts and egg hunt.... Coffee Mornings: We hold regular coffee mornings where members can relax together in a friendly, happy atmosphere. Occasionally we have guest speakers. Topics in the past have included Hyperactivity, Sleeplessness, Statementing and Benefits. Sometimes we just have an 'indulgence' morning with beauty therapy or delicious deserts. Toy Library: This contains over 1000 toys from the specialist toy to the imaginative; indoor and outdoor; from Musical to Activity, Sensory to Cognitive. An excellent range can be hired for a very reasonable amount per month. The Toy Library is unfortunately cancelled until further notice. But members can come in to the office during normal working hours to return or hire toys. Therapies: For the adults we have regular Reflexology and Indian Head Massage sessions. If you want to know more about these please click on the Therapies title. For the children there is Music with Jo Jingles and Art therapy. After School Club: Currently held on a Wednesday afternoon, this offers a range of indoor and outdoor pursuits such as canoeing, golf, model making and baking. At present we have funding for just 12 places but would like to expand if the extra money can be found. This is what one mother thinks of the club. {mosimage} Young Carers: Brothers and sisters can feel excluded. They see their special siblings getting extra attention from Mum and Dad and maybe getting extra treats. We aim to provide opportunities to make the young carer feel special as well by holding more physical activities such as ice-skating or rock climbing.
