There are a number of responsibilities that come with being a member.
- Confidentiality. Openness within the group means we must be discrete about what we hear at meetings and events.
- Supervision. The group does not have the resources to supervise children or equipment at events and activities. Carers must supervise their children at all times, except by prior, written arrangement. Volunteers can help, but are not trained or insured to take sole responsibility.
- Respect for fellow members. All members have their own individual problems and concerns (even Directors and Staff!). New members are especially vulnerable, but even long established members are caring for children with disabilities. No disability is too mild to be a worry. Be patient with each other!
- Respect for Employees, the Board of Directors and Volunteers. Our Board of Directors, some of our staff and volunteers are part timers caring for their own families. Please use the answerphone for non urgent messages. If you have their home telephone numbers please think before telephoning them at home. All members are requested to treat CADCAF Staff, Directors and Volunteers with due care and respect. Any member not adhering to these rules will have their membership rescinded at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
